The Long Island baseball community is in mourning. 10-year-old Lazar LaPenna from Long Beach tragically passed on the field during a game last Friday. We here at EEBA want to let you know about something powerful trending on social media that is using the hashtag #batsoutforlazar. Little Leagues, travel organizations, players both young and old alike across Long Island are showing their support for the family by leaving their bats outside their front doors and posting it to their respective socials. What happened to Lazar is every baseball parent’s worst nightmare. Let us show the LaPenna family that they are not alone. If you haven’t done so already, please go and post your bats. Let's show the LaPenna family some love during this very difficult time.
